IndiaCaseLaw Judgment research

How it works

A simple workflow from question to authority — once the index is live, this is how we expect you to use IndiaCaseLaw.

1. Search in plain language or citations

Enter a neutral citation, SCC citation, party name, statute section, or a short description of the legal issue. The engine will match across metadata and full text where available.

2. Narrow with court-aware filters

Restrict by court, bench, judge, decision date, and result (allowed, dismissed, remanded). Filters reflect how Indian judgments are actually published.

3. Scan headnotes and key paragraphs

We highlight operative holdings and frequently cited passages so you can triage results before opening the full judgment.

4. Verify at the source

Always cross-check against the official court website or authorised reporters before citing in filings. IndiaCaseLaw is a discovery aid, not a substitute for certified copies.
